Handmade NABS Mandolins by Donald Penney are used on this album. Donald grew up in a home filled with music, and heard some of the tunes on this recording for the first time in his childhood. He passed on the gift of a musical upbringing to his daughter, Alicia, who remembers Grandpa scolding her for playing the gypsy song too gently: “it’s Russian!”
This record is dedicated to the memory of Archie Lewis.
